Password Access

  • FirstSearch is a password-protected service.
  • You can access FirstSearch from your own private Internet Service Provider, but you must use the MSOE authorization number and password which are available through the MSOE Library. Send email to the MSOE Library for details, or call the Circulation Desk at (414)277-7180.
  • IMPORTANT! The FirstSearch password is changed after each academic quarter.

Description

  • FirstSearch is a uniform interface to over 40 different databases covering a variety of subject areas.
  • To see which journals each database indexes, try searching first the Periodical Titles In OCLC FirstSearch Title Finder Service. Search by the title or ISSN of the periodical that you are interested in finding articles from, and this service will tell you which FirstSearch database to search.
  • If you discover the citation of an article in one of the FirstSearch databases that you would like to read, check the Library's Periodical Holdings List to see if the article is in a journal or magazine held by the Library. If the Library does not have the article, contact the Library's Interlibrary Loan Department for help in obtaining the article.

User Documentation

  • Click here to access OCLC FirstSearch User Documentation from OCLC www.purl.org/oclc/fs-doc.
