MSOE Voicemail Information

Procedure for using voicemail

  1. Dial 7199 on campus, or 277-7199 off-campus.
  2. Enter your extension followed by the # sign. (If you are on the phone with your extension for voice mail, you can just hit the # sign.)
  3. Enter your password, followed by the # sign.

To create a personal greeting

  1. Dial the appropriate number to access voicemail (7199 or 277-7199).
  2. Log into your voicemail.
  3. Dial "82".
  4. The system will give you a series of prompt messages to create an internal or external greeting.

To forward a message

  1. Dial the appropriate number to access voicemail (7199 or 277-7199).
  2. Log into your voicemail.
  3. While listening to the message, dial "73".
  4. Enter the extension you want the message to be forwarded to, followed by the # sign.
  5. Keep entering in extensions followed by the # sign. When you are through, enter the # sign again.

To change your password

(NOTE: password changes are required every 90 days and must be 5 digits or more.)
  1. Dial the appropriate number to access voicemail (7199 or 277-7199).
  2. Log into your voicemail.
  3. Dial "84".
  4. The system will give you a series of prompt messages to change your password.

Main Menu

While you are listening to messages, you can:
  • Skip Backward: dial "1"
  • Skip Forward: dial "3"
  • To listen to the previous message: dial "4"
  • To listen to the next message: dial "6"
  • To delete a message: dial "76"

Express Messaging

Express messaging is used to go directly to a person's mailbox, without calling their extension first.

Procedure for using express messaging voicemail:

  1. Dial 7299 on campus, or 277-7299 off-campus.
  2. Enter the person's extension for whom you wish to leave a message, followed by the # sign.
  3. If you do not know the party's extension, dial "11" followed by their name using the keypad. This will search for the correct number using their name.
  4. Leave your desired message.
