The
Milwaukee School of Engineering established its Rader School of Business to offer business students something different and more useful than the traditional business administration program.
Business as useful instead of business as usual.
At MSOE, students receive the same primary education as those in traditional business administration programs with
an added bonus -- they learn to be “power users” of the computer in all functional areas of business such as marketing, accounting, finance, production management and information systems.
While the computer is at the root of MSOE business programs, our courses go beyond just how the computer is used and explore the impact of the computer and technology on business practices and processes. With businesses becoming more technically oriented than many people imagine, it is essential that business school graduates not only grasp the essentials of computers, but have an understanding of their impact on business. MSOE graduates have an edge because they not only have the same background as their counterparts with business administration degrees, but bring to the workplace a thorough understanding of the technology that drives businesses.
MSOE students are taught by professors who, besides having academic credentials, have "been there" in the business world. Just take a look at the business and industry background of our faculty, described in the Faculty Directory. In addition to extensive industry experience, our faculty has on-going consulting experience, which means they keep up-to-date in their field ... and they bring those experience into the classroom for their students.
An added bonus is that MSOE does not use teaching assistants. Our students have the advantage of learning in small classes and getting personalized attention from our faculty, whose top priority is teaching.
Businesses and other organizations recognize the quality of an MSOE business degree. Our graduate placement rate for the past five years is 99%, continuing a 45-year tradition of providing graduates with a solid business education combined with hands-on business applications that make them highly desirable to organizations, both private and public.
