Graduate Programs

Rosenberg Hall MSOE offers graduate degrees in the following areas:

Master of Science in Cardiovascular Studies (MSCS)

MSOE's newest graduate offering is the Master of Science in Cardiovascular Studies (MSCS). This program is designed for students with bachelor’s degrees who are interested in the topics covered in our Master of Science in Perfusion (MSP) program, but not their direct application to the job of a perfusionist. Program runs for six academic quarters at MSOE.

Master of Science in Engineering (MSE)

The MSE program is an interdisciplinary engineering program with primary mphases in the areas of electrical engineering (EE) and mechanical engineering (ME). A key component of the MSE program is the breadth of engineering background that students gain in areas of mathematics, systems engineering, and both EE and ME. Additionally, students are offered some degree of concentration by their selection of an engineering option and their selection of an engineering project.

The engineering options are EE, ME, and fluid power engineering. The EE option focuses primarily in areas of control systems, electronics and circuit design. The ME option focuses in areas of engineering materials and mechanical design. The fluid power engineering option focuses on hydraulic system modeling and controls. Instead of a thesis requirement, the MSE program culminates in a six-credit capstone engineering project.

Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM)

The MSEM program is best described as a master's degree in the overall management of organizations with an orientation to manufacturing, engineering, technology or production. It provides a technical-based alternative to traditional MBA programs. Specialization areas include quality, organizational management, operations management, program management and marketing. Most students who pursue the MSEM work full-time at area companies. The MSEM program is also available through MSOE's Fox Valley Region Extension and select courses are offered in Brookfield.

Integrated MSEM
An integrated option of the MSEM program also is available, requiring only two years to complete. Course work is integrated into suites of courses. Each suite can be completed during one, eleven-week quarter. Upon completion six graduate credits are awarded.

Master of Science in Environmental Engineering (MSEV)

The MSEV program is designed to provide expertise in environmental systems design and environmental management issues. It is tailored to the student who already has a bachelor of science degree in a traditional engineering discipline. Topics in areas such as water minimization, environmental law, pollution control, solid and hazardous waste management, wastewater treatment, plant safety and OSHA issues, and environmental risk assessment are presented. The program requires 45 credits of graduate course work. Courses typically meet one evening per week for 11 weeks during the regular academic year.

Master of Science in New Product Management (MSNP)

To remain viable globally, United States companies must develop and manufacture new products that can compete internationally, as well as in existing markets. Effective new product management is a critical factor to success.

This degree in new product management provides the knowledge, tools and techniques for individuals and companies to retain knowledge, jobs and technology.

Graduates will enhance an organization’s ability to identify, develop and deploy new products and services. They will effectively determine the products or services that are aligned with a company’s unique strengths and position, including reputation, capabilities (current and needed), market opportunities and resources. And they’ll be able to identify and capitalize on both domestic and international product markets.

Master of Science in Perfusion (MSP)

Perfusion, the science of supporting or replacing a patient's circulatory or respiratory function, is a hospital operating room discipline of great importance in invasive surgery. The MSP program includes extensive clinical experience and emphasizes the technology involved in perfusion. This is a full-time program which requires five consecutive quarters of study. Enrollment is limited to 10 students each year.

Master of Science in Structural Engineering (MSST)

The MSST program is designed to meet the needs of architectural, civil or structural engineers who need advanced course work to better analyze and design contemporary building structural systems.

The MSST program assumes that you have completed an undergraduate curriculum that included indeterminate structural analysis, structural steel and reinforced concrete design, and soil mechanics. The MSST program expands on these fundamentals with course topics that include applied finite element analysis, structural dynamics, structural stability and structural system design. Other topics include design courses in structural steel, reinforced concrete, wood, masonry and foundations. All courses emphasize the ability to present and communicate your design ideas to the client and other engineers.
